What Mallorca actually costs for four people
The full sum, including everything the booking sites leave out.
Everyone adds the flights to the accommodation and stops there. Here's what else goes in, for four people and eight nights.
What you usually count
Return flights, around €240 a person if you book early. Accommodation in a good apartment, roughly €1,100 for the whole group — that's €275 each.
Running total: €515 a person.
What everyone forgets
Checked bags. Cheap tickets don't include them. Four legs, four people: around €60 a person.
The car. In Mallorca it's close to essential unless you're staying dead centre. Eight days plus fuel: about €110 each.
Transfers. To and from the airport, if you don't take the car on day one: €16 a person.
Meals. Even cooking half the time, ten days comes to around €240 a person.
Activities. One boat trip, one tasting, one entry somewhere: €120, minimum.
The real total
Around €1,060 a person. Nearly double the first estimate.
The good news is that none of it is a surprise if you write it down at the start. The bad news is that almost nobody does.
